Confession: I've Always Quit The Jobs That Make Me The Most Money.
Maybe I'm just too much of a creative. Or maybe I feel like I'm a caged bird when I work for a company that knows they are giving out the best deal in town and use that as an excuse to treat you badly. I'm not sure but I feel like the jobs I end up quitting are the ones that make me the most money and stress me out the most on the contrary. Some of which have not directly applied to career path which gave me more amo to write my "resignation letter effective immediately."
The truth is, like many of us we all just want to live in our glory and work for ourselves doing what makes you most passionate everyday. But the reality of it is that there are bills that need to be paid in the mean time and until we reach the level of gigging everyday, you might have to clock in to that 9-5.
My thing is that I do not mind working a little harder to make sure I don't struggle. My issue is working a job that takes away from my time to create. Or working a job that doesn't appreciate you when "THIS IS MY SIDE GIG!"
We all moved to LA, with a dollar and a dream and what managers fail to realize is that this is not my passion. This is simply a means to an end. And you end up working for companies who are upset that they did not follow their dreams and want you to treat that job like it is your passion.
My advice to you if you end up working for an employer who doesn't value your worth. Kick them to the curb!
There will always be someone else to hire you. And life is too short to spend it doing things that don't get you to your bottom line.
