Taraji Henson Postpones Wedding AGAIN Due to Covid-19 + Empire's Final Season Cut Short
Taraji P. Henson is moving her wedding date ... again.
The actress is currently engaged to former NFL star Kelvin Hayden, and due to the coronavirus, the couple decided to move their wedding from its original date in April. Taraji recently told Extra TV she might be moving the wedding date for the second time from June, to now July:
“It’s probably going to be more like July,” she told ExtraTV. “We have to see what this will be like at the other end.”
The wedding was initially moved to the summer because of family plans and her crazy work schedule:
“It’s overwhelming because in my work life, I have dates and emails and now in my personal life it’s like, ‘Ah!’” said Henson, 49. “I don’t think people understand what goes into wedding planning, trying to match everything up is so crazy.”
She stated the latest change was due to the safety of her family:
“Our grandparents, my grandmother is about to turn 96, his is 86, how do we get them to the wedding now?” she said. “Now, we are concerned, just trying to figure out the safest and best way.”
The actress is currently social-distancing with Hayden and her 25-year-old son Marcell Johnson.
It looks like the coronavirus has affected Taraji in more ways than one, the final season of her show Empire on FOX was also cut short due to the coronavirus. According to the Chicago Tribune:
"The sixth and final season of “Empire” was scheduled to run for 20 episodes, however, the production shutdown caused by the pandemic meant that only 18 episodes could be completed. The result is that the final three episodes, including what will now be the series finale, will air on April 21 on Fox. Sources with knowledge of the show say that episode 19 was part-way through shooting when the shutdown came into effect, and that footage from that unfinished episode will be cut into the finale."
